“Just Do It”

I’ve never been one for New Year’s resolutions. Just because we toss out one calendar and hang up a new one, doesn’t mean that suddenly you or I are “reborn” or suddenly start spewing the phrase “new year, new me.” If I’m going to change, I’m going to do it when I’m mentally and emotionally ready for it, not just because I have to get used to writing a new number when handwriting the date.

Which leads me to my weekly advice. To all my friends, family, and readers, if you’re going to change, just do it. Don’t fall into the trap of “It’s too late for me to go back to school” or “Every time I try to lose weight, it doesn’t work.” If you want change, do it. When there’s a will, there’s a way. There are plenty of ways to go back to school with an affordable budget. Many jobs offer tuition reimbursement, and there are plenty of scholarships that offer necessary assistance. If you’re looking to lose weight, change your perspective of the concept. Losing weight doesn’t mean punishing yourself; it means balancing your normal diet with minor adjustments. I know you’re not necessarily looking to make these changes in your life specifically, but these two seem to be the biggest challenges that people tend to dish out excuses against.

For any sort of discomfort in your life, change it! Not happy with your job? Get out! Not happy with that one friend that you can’t seem to let go of? Cut them out! Feeling a void that isn’t satisfied with material possessions? Pray about it! Point is, don’t put so much weight on your New Year’s change by labeling it as a “resolution.” If you feel the need to better yourself, then fix it πŸ™‚ Stay happy, my friends.

  1. Right on my love! Just like my desire to learn to fly, or learn how to repair radios, I’m adopting the Just Do It mantra! 😊😊😊 I’m all about making things happen, not letting cost or ability get in the way. Thank you for being an amazing inspiration honey! πŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—
